Indic Handlooms
Region · North

Himachal Pradesh.

Kullu shawls — geometric pattu-style yokes on hand-loomed wool — and Kinnauri shawls from the high villages above the Sutlej.

Himachal's shawl traditions split between two valleys: Kullu produces broad geometric border-and-yoke patterns in vivid hand-spun wool, while Kinnauri shawls (further north, near the Tibetan border) carry finer Buddhist-influenced motifs in subtler colourways.
