Kerala's signature textile is Kasavu: an off-white cotton mundu (men's wrap) or set-saree with a thin band of gold zari at the border. The cloth itself is woven in Balaramapuram, a town outside Thiruvananthapuram where every family is in some part of the loom-to-loomshop chain.
